Kid liked the story math

So, I decided to try Wonder Math for my second grader. She really struggles with math and gets pretty anxious about it. The 'story-based math adventures' sounded a bit cheesy to me at first, but she actually loved it! It made learning fun, which is huge. She was even excited about the prizes and incentives. It felt like a much nicer way to learn than just regular homework drills. Glad we gave it a shot, it made a difference.

Solid math program, good support

I enrolled my son in the grade 5 math lessons. The ordering process on the website was straightforward enough. Classes are through Zoom, which worked fine. The teacher was credentialed as advertised and seemed to handle the small group well. We had a question about rescheduling one class and customer support responded within a few hours; they were helpful. The interactive curriculum kept him engaged, which is not always easy. He's usually pretty bored with math, but the gamified learning elements and story-based adventures actually made him look forward to it. It's a noticeable improvement over just homework help.

Good value for first month

I signed up my daughter for the grade 4 math lessons. The 'first month for 1 dollar' deal was really good. It made trying it out super low risk. I was looking for something affordable that also seemed effective, and this felt worth it to see if she liked the story-based learning. So far, so good for the price I paid.

Consistent quality for grade 6

We've been using Wonder Math for a while now, for my son's grade 6 math. This latest enrollment was for the summer bridge program. I keep coming back because the quality of the teachers is consistently high. They really focus on building math confidence. I appreciate that the small group size means he gets individual attention without the high cost of one-on-one tutoring. It's reliable, and the curriculum always feels fresh, even for a repeat student. He actually enjoys his 'math adventures' and that's a big deal. They always deliver what they promise.

How small are these 'small groups' for Wonder Math? My kid gets lost in bigger classes.

S Shane H. 2 months ago
From my experience, the classes are really small. My kid's has like 4 or 5 other students max.

They say 'small-group' and they actually mean it. Never seen more than maybe 6 kids in my daughter's class.

Anyone know if they usually have a free trial or something like that? Don't wanna commit if my kid hates it.

M Mia 2 months ago
Definitely! They almost always have a free trial or a heavily discounted first month, like $1 or 50% off. Keep an eye out for those deals.

Yep, my friend got the first month for a dollar. It's a pretty common offer, so you should be able to find one.

Thinking of Wonder Math for my 6th grader. Is it better than Beast Academy for kids who struggle a bit?

G Gwen Y. 2 months ago
Hmm, Beast Academy can be pretty intense. Wonder Math is more story-based and focuses on making it fun, which might be better if your kid struggles or has anxiety.

I think Wonder Math is great for confidence building. Beast Academy is good for really advanced kids, but Wonder Math might be a gentler entry if they're not super into math yet.

Hey guys, thinking about signing up my kid for Wonder Math. Are the teachers actually good? Like, properly qualified?

T Todd Q. 2 months ago
Yeah, they're all credentialed teachers. My son's instructor is super patient and explains things really well.

I think so, my daughter's teacher has a background in education and seems to know her stuff. They aren't just random tutors.
